The
Emmanuel
Cancer Foundation (ECF) is a not-for-profit public
foundation established in 1983 to help preserve the quality of life
for any New Jersey family whose child has been diagnosed with cancer.
Services are offered at no charge to the family, and include in-home
professional counseling, advocacy services, meals, food, household and
material assistance and limited emergency financial relief. ECF also
sponsors an annual summer picnic and holiday party for the families.
This fundraiser helps the Midland Park office of ECF, which serves all
of Bergen, Essex, Passaic and Hudson counties. |

ECF,
founded in 1983, is the vision of Joseph and Susan Vizzoni of Summit,
New Jersey.
Their son Emmanuel was diagnosed with cancer in December of
1980.
After a 2 year long battle with his illness he died in 1983 at
the young age of 7.
As parents of a child stricken with this deadly disease, they
discovered firsthand the hardships the disease imposes on the family.
There is no greater threat to the fabric of a family than a
catastrophically ill child.
A child that must face treatments for cancer that are often
worse than the cancer.
After living through the stresses that accompanied this
diagnosis and realizing the emotional and financial impact it has on
the entire family, they recognized and responded to the need to create
an organization to meet the specific needs of families undergoing the
horrific struggles associated with pediatric cancer. |

Go 4 the Goal Foundation a
not-for-profit corporation that was formed in 2006 by Dr. Richard & Beth Stefanacci as a result of what they
encountered after their oldest son Richard was diagnosed with Ewing's
Sarcoma (a form of bone cancer that most commonly affects adolescent
children).
It became evident very early on in Richard's treatment that many other
children suffering from childhood cancer do not have the emotional,
financial and logistical support that they were fortunate enough to have
for Richard. With the outpouring of support from family, friends, and
neighbors far outstripping their needs, Richard & Beth did what came
naturally to them which was to bring together the surplus of resources
with the great need to improve the lives of children and their families
affected with cancer. |

Our mission is to provide assistance to children with cancer and
their families by providing financial and emotional support so that
they can experience all of the "normal" joys of childhood, while
they fight to achieve their goal of being healthy again soon.
Some of the support we are currently providing
* Food assistance
* Household and medical bills assistance
* Travel expenses to and from the hospital
* Parties, Games and other "normal" day to day kids activities
* and much more
Richard Glew Stefanacci passed away on Tuesday, June 12, at the
young age of fourteen after a year battling with Ewing's Sarcoma. Go
4 the Goal Foundation is guided by Richard's spirit in a way that
only Richard could do, in caring for children affected by cancer.
