The Contemporary Club of Ho-Ho-Kus, Inc. is governed by the 11th District of the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs.  The NJFWC is the largest and oldest nondenominational, nonpartisan, volunteer service organization for women in the state.  The yearly goals of the Contemporary Club include various social and fundraising activities.  Our annual Youth Activities Council (YAC) Community Dinner Dance and Auction and the HHK5K are the two largest fundraisers.  The Club also funds several college scholarships and sends student delegates to the Hugh O’Brien Youth Foundation.  The Club members also volunteer for Meals-On-Wheels and sponsor a local needy family through monthly donations.

The YAC Halloween Parade and Easter Egg Hunt, co-sponsored by the Contemporary Club, are longstanding traditions in town.

In past years, the Club has been active in the restoration of the Hermitage, started the Ambulance Corps and raised funds to benefit the Worth Pinkham Memorial Library, the Fire Department, and the Ho-Ho-Kus Recreation Association.  In addition, the Club has participated in organizing a branch of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary.

Beyond raising funds for noteworthy causes for 75 years, the Contemporary Club provides a viable means to meet new people in our community through our social events.  Among the many events are the September Garden Party to welcome a new year and prospective members, the Holiday Buffet, the Cocktail Party and the Progressive Dinner.  Members can also participate in a variety of cultural activities including book group, craft workshops, member meals and movie/theater outings.
